What a great weekend we had.  Sunday was the first horse show of our local associations show season.  John was going to join us but had to be in SC early Monday morning.  But Mollie decided she wanted to come with us.  It was a great surprise for us.  Sunday we woke early to get to the show for Liv and her friend, Nicole, school.  Nicole was in the first division of the day.  Katie arrived to help the girls.  Nicole and Blueberry had classes of six.  Nicole and Blueberry took Reserve Champion!  It was Nicole’s first time doing a course at a show.  They were very together and looked great.

Olivia’s division was a bit later.  Olivia has been working hard with Nick and it was Olivia’s decision to ride in the Schooling Hunter division.  The fences are 2’6 in that division.  Nick has been schooling 3 feet at home so Liv felt confident that they could do it.  This is also Olivia’s first year showing as an adult.  It’s a huge step for her and Nick.  They will be competing against seasoned riders.  There were six competitors in the jumping classes and seven in the flat.  Liv and Nick has great rounds.  The results were three second places.  Just wonderful.  They were so consistent.  It is also worth mentioning that the judge was none other than Neal Shapiro, Olympic winner and rider.  Neal Shapiro was inducted into the riding hall of fame in April of this year.  That makes Liv and Nick’s placing even more exciting.

I would also like to send a huge “thank you” out to Liv’s trainer, Katie George.  Katie has supported and guided Liv on her journey the past several months.  Katie brings out the best in the rider and the horse.  We are all very grateful to have Katie in our lives.  Thank you Katie!

Here is a video of the Liv and Nick from Sunday.
