Wow, it’s been ages since I have taken the time to update my blog.  Things have been hectic but going well.  My divorce was final on July 8, 2011.  So a new phase in my life has started.  It’s scary but also a learning experience.  I have learned a lot about myself and made life changing decisions.  I feel for the best and want to continue on a positive path.

Olivia is doing excellent in college.  She have obtained the President’s Honor status every semester so far.  I am super proud of her.  I can see all the hard work she puts into her college education.  Lots of late nights.

Mollie is really progressing in her cooking skills.  I am just blown away with each meal she makes for us.  She learned so much from my dad and she cherishes that.

Noah and Harley are doing well.  Thanks to some very hard work by a man I’m dating, the boys have a new room.  We took the boys room right down to the subfloors.  So new paint and carpeting and the room is amazing.  It’s actually the best room in the house.  But the boys are enjoying it so much.  And that makes me happy.

We have adopted a new dog.  His name is Rock.  He is a four year old German Shepherd.  What a great dog he is.  Rock has easily joined the other dogs in the family.  All the kids love him and he is very well behaved.

My mother has had a rough end of summer.  She was in and out of the hospital for the past two months.  I think she is finally on the mend and feeling good.

I was so hoping that our snowy days would be behind us.  But I should know better.  I was born and raised in PA and know that snow is possible until April.  When I was a young child there was a huge snow storm on Easter.  So it shouldn’t have been a huge surprise to wake to over 7 inches of snow.  It was a light and fluffy snow too.  My poor Polly had to hop through the snow.  I was sorry I didn’t have my camera to catch it.  She was adorable.  By the time Charles went out Oliver has shoveled the deck.

So it’s finally official.  Olivia is now a college student!  She chose her classes and the books on on their way.  Next Wednesday is her first day.  I’m so excited for her and know she will do awesome.

Wow, it’s been ages since I have taken the time to sit and update this blog.  Things have been, to say the least, hectic.  Many changes have been going on with the children and myself.  Many months ago John and I have decided to divorce.  We have chosen different paths and we part peacefully.

Since making the decision to change my life I have made many changes, both outwardly and inwardly.  I have become more open minded and have begun the process of finding myself.  I took a huge leap by dying my hair.  It may seem like a small change but it has been empowering.  I feel so much younger and happier.  I have also lost weight.  That has been great positive change for myself as well.

The kids have been doing great.  My house is full of laughter and there is no greater gift.  Olivia will be starting college in March.  We had a delay with Liv starting college because of issues with her financial aid.  But Liv is now excited to be finally starting.  Will is doing very well in college.  I actually received a note from his college recommending Will for an Academic Competiveness Grant.  I’m very proud of him.  Mollie, Noah and Harley continue doing well in their studies as well.

I thought the winter weather would slow Noah’s socialization down.  But, it has not.  Noah is my social butterfly and has made some good friends.  Friends that I approve of and are a good match for him.

This winter has been tough weather wise.  Nick is getting some much deserved down time.  Liv has really only been riding in her weekly lesson.  It’s been so bitterly cold that it’s not practical to do much more riding than that.  But soon the flowers will be blooming and show season will be upon us.

Here a few photos that Mariah took at the Dalton Horse Show yesterday.  It was Mariah's first time operating my DSLR camera.  I think she did a great job.  Thank you!

It's almost the end of summer already.  The area schools will be starting in about three weeks.  That is a sure sign of summer coming to an end.  My favorite season is fall though so I'm really looking forward to it.

Olivia had her District 4H horse show this past weekend.  It poured rain the whole day.  It was a mess in the ring too.  When they say rain or shine they mean it.  Liv and Nick did a very nice round in the working hunter division.  They did take a third in the breed class.  Liv and her trainer, Katie, decided to scratch the hunter over fences class.  They felt the ring was way too sloppy to be jumping Nick.  We didn't want to risk Nick or Liv getting hurt.  We were so relived to be done with that day.
