Last Wednesday John went to see his neurosurgeon.  They have scheduled surgery for his neck on July 23rd.  I thinks it’s better to do it sooner rather than later. They won’t know for two to three months after surgery if John will regain mobility or feeling.  The surgery should be out patient as well.  It’s amazing what they now do as out patient. John has to wear his neck brace at all times.  Because of this John’s neck muscles are getting weak.  Not a good thing.  Next Monday have an appointment with his family doctor.  Hopefully the doctor appointments will calm down once we get a regular routine.

The kids have been a huge help.  Everyone is chipping in more around the house.  I’m so grateful they are so good.  Harley is having the hardest time understanding what is going on with John.  He is quite interested in the whole insulin regimen.  Olivia is doing really great at helping her dad with shots and testing.  Sometimes John needs an extra set of hands because his hands don’t work like they used to.

Last night all the children and Polly went swimming in the big lake.  Polly was quite the adventurous girl and rode on the float.  She sure does enjoy going with the kids.  Here is a picture of Mollie, Oliver and Polly on the float.
