Our first holiday weekend of the summer. The weather has been wonderful. Saturday Liv and Oliver went to the barn with Will early. It's easier for Liv to work Nick early on a show weekend. I came over and then we gave Nick is bath. Not Nick's favorite part. But Nick was good. We then headed home and did chores at the house.
Sunday was a show day. Liv and Nick had a great time. The competition was tough and they didn't place. Nick took a rail down in his first round. Very odd for him with our new trainer. Liv said he was tired though. He was standing around for a few hours before his classes. The second round was pretty good but he missed one of his leads. He is really not a contender on the flat. But Liv was pleased with Nick. He is so awesome. My mom, Noah and Harley came to the show. Oliver and Mollie came with us in the morning to the show. It was so great to have most of us together at a show. We of course have such awesome barn friends but family made it even better. And a huge thank you to Katie George again. Such a great support Katie is and it's a true pleasure to have her as Liv's trainer. A rare find.
Today we are taking Maui, our TB mare, to her new home. She is a great horse. We really do love her but we are just going to concentrate on Nick for this season. This is Liv and Nick's first season of schooling hunter so it will be hard work. I can't believe all the inquiries I have had on Maui. I wanted to make sure she got the right home. It was nice that I was able to choose who I wanted to have her. Owning her has been a privilege and I wanted to do the right thing by her. I didn't want her to be sold and re-sold. She is a gentle mare and that would not be good for her mentally. So we are off this afternoon to deliver her.
