Getting started.....

So after some thought I realized it might be fun to start my own blog. I could use this site to write the happenings of my family and keep it for the children as they grow.

I was relieved to find that this site has spell checker. After reading other blogs and seeing the endless errors I thought it might not be an option.

For an introduction my name is Shelley, I'm the mother of six great children. They range is age from seven to twenty. We are a homeschooling family. We chose this route to enable the opportunity of our children to grow and learn at their own pace. We also didn't want the children to be clumped into a category that they really didn't belong. We are raising six individual children. They each have their own personalities and it's awesome. It's a great joy to be your own person.

Today is exactly one week until Will, our oldest, starts college. He will be attending Kaplan University online. His course of study will be applied science of criminal justice. I believe he is hoping to be a police officer at this point. But there are many options for this line of work out there. Will may change his mind at some point.

Our second son, Oliver, has started to put some of his ideas for a book on paper. He has been discussing an idea for a book for ages. I was happy to see him finally putting finger to keyboard and getting it on paper.
